Ashtyn and Wil come to visit

Ashtyn and Wil came to visit for their first time in Malaysia.
They had bought some Kit Kats during their layover stay in Tokyo.
We tried Red Bean Kit Kats and Strawberry Kit Kats.
On the first weekend that Ashtyn and Wil were here, we arranged to have family pictures taken.
Above is just one of my favorites.
Thanks Ashtyn and Wil for helping the younger kids with their homework :)

One day I took A&W to a couple of temples not too far from my house. Each one across the street from each other. The one above is from the Dhammikarama Burmese Temple.

The Reclining Buddha Temple, Wat Chayamangkalaram in Penang. This is a Thai temple.
On another day, Aaron took the day off and we took A&W to the top of Penang Hill
by cable car and then hiked down.

The monkeys really do scare me!

Ashtyn found this engraving in the concrete!
The walk down took us about an hour. It was a fun day.
We ventured into Georgetown a couple of times to walk around the crazy streets.
We all tried Mooncakes for the upcoming Mooncake Festival.
We all decided that they were not our favorite dessert.
Kek Lok Si Temple. This is the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia.

On their last night in town we took them to the Tuesday Night Market close to our house.
Ashtyn tried some coconut ice-cream and Wil, being the adventurous eater
in the family, tried Chendol.
They both also tried jack fruit and then at the very end of our food tour they tried Durian!YUCK!!!
I was so happy to have these two with us for almost 2 weeks. It was great that Ashtyn and Wil could finally see where we live and understand us more when we talk about Malaysia.

On the next post I will talk about the quick 2 day trip I took Ashtyn and Wil on to Singapore:)
