Nauvoo- Family summer trip 2019

We drove from Ohio to Illinois, stopping at a hotel for one night to break up the ride.

On our way to Nauvoo was a bit scary at times. There was a tornado in the area 

and it got really dark and windy with lots of rain. Our phones alarmed us to take 

cover but we were on the freeway and had no where to go so we just drove.

There were lots of things of interest for a little boy while visiting Nauvoo.

Learned about our P's and Q's today at the Print shop.

Going down Parley Street toward the river, this sign is displayed. Many
written accounts are also displayed.  I have posted a few that I liked below.

This is the area where the Saints would have crossed the Mississippi into Iowa.

We watched a wonderful performance by the
Young Performing Missionaries titled, "Sunset by the Mississippi"

Inside the Family Living Center were different stations where the Senior Missionaries would show us how the Saints lived in that time period. Above is a picture of a kitchen and we were shown how they made bread.

Outside of the Family Living Center was a fun play area for the kids.

One of the highlights of being in Nauvoo was going inside the temple and 

performing important ordinances for our ancestors.
