Happy Birthday Darby!

Darby turned sweet 16 this past week! Amazing how time flies!

This was what I posted on Facebook about it...

Happy 16th Birthday to our sweet girl Darby! It seemed like just yesterday when you were a little girl and everywhere we went you were always wearing a bathing suit or leotard with a little dance skirt.
We love you honey and so proud of the young woman you have become!

 Darby requested that I make chicken chimichangas and spanish rice for her dinner. For dessert I made berry cobbler instead of cake since I would be making her 

another cake a few days later.

The following Friday, in honor of Darby's birthday and Ren Strauss' birthday, 

we had them invite their friends to the youth center right after school to 

hang out for a while and have pizza. 

The youth center is like a hang out place owned by the LDS church. 

They have several locations around Europe.

Darby, Aisa and her son Ren. The Strauss family are in our ward in Täby. 

They are also an expat family like us.

Crock Pot Class

In September I taught a Crock Pot class for the Relief Society in my ward. It is interesting to me how so many women have no knowledge about slow cookers in this region of the world. However, I am starting to see them pop up in stores but it hasn't quite caught on yet.

I shared some cooking tips and tricks as well as shared 8 different crock pot recipes-
lasagna, chicken tacos, pot roast, pulled pork, lentil soup, apple cider, pumpkin bread and fudge!

Our new home

Our landlord sold the house that we were renting so we had to find a new place. It ended up being a painful experience because it took us a long time to find something suitable for our family. However, we did find a nice home and we even like it better than our last one....well, except our kitchen sink is kind of small.
The movers came to pack us up the last week of June and then moved to the new house on July 1st. Aaron was in town to oversee the process. The kids and I were still in the states during this time having just finished up with all the celebrations of Ashtyn and Wil's wedding!
It has been quite a summer.
