Fika...in Penang!

We were so excited to find out that there is a Swedish cafe in Penang!
It is called "Fika".

This photo below is the little street where the cafe is hidden.

Melynn and I both ordered chokladboll and a berry drink.
Jaxon and Aaron both ordered pie.
We will definitely be back!

Singapore

The day after the kids got out of school for the summer, we took a trip to Singapore.
This was only a quick trip yet we filled it up to the max.
We stayed at the Goodwood Park Hotel.
After landing and getting settled in to our hotel, we walked around Orchard Drive
which is a major shopping and eating area.
The next day we ventured out to Sentosa Island which is a big tourist area.
We were on our way to the water park.
Some people choose to travel by cable car to get to the island...but it is expensive!

Adventure Cove water park

Aaron is just one of the kids :)

After the water park, we made a stop at Krispy Kreme.
This was one of many shops on Sentosa Island, kind of like a Downtown Disney.
One of the cute candy stores we saw.
We got back to our hotel and then walked around some more along Orchard Drive. Jaxon spotted some cool cars and I had to get a picture.
There was some sort of robot convention going on at one of the hotels.

That evening we went to the Night Safari. At the entrance to get in there were some
guys doing a little show. It looked like they were blowing fire.

We decided to get some hamburgers before going inside.

I had to take a picture of the womens bathroom. I loved how it was partly outside.
We tried to take some photos but they did not turn out very well because it was so dark. I think our favorite part of the zoo was the giant fruit bats. They are huge! Like the size of a watermelon! Near the end of our visit to the zoo, we saw an animal show and Jaxon was picked to participate.
On Sunday morning we went to church at the local Stake Center.
It was actually right around the corner from our hotel.

After the services were over, Darby had an appointment with the local Patriarch.
This was the main reason for our visit to Singapore.
Our family with Patriarch Charlie Chan.
We are so thankful that Darby had this wonderful and unique opportunity.
After church we went back to the hotel to change and then venture out again. After a yummy italian dinner we took the subway to Little India and walked through the markets for a little while.
Then we got back on the subway and headed to Gardens by the Bay. Absolutely beautiful!!!

On our last day of the trip we started it off with pancakes at Slappy Cakes.
This is a fun restaurant to visit because you make your own pancakes at your table.

After breakfast we walked over to Universal Studios.
Jaxon felt like we were back in California.

These cars were actually used in the movie "Fast and Furious 7".

Getting ready to watch the Water World Show. Similar show to the one in LA.

The Merlion is the symbol of Singapore. Half lion half fish.

Last picture taken of the trip. Singapore is a beautiful and clean city!
Now time to head back to crazy Penang :)
