Week in Utah - Darby's Bridal Shower

Aaron, Jaxon and I flew to Utah to spend a week with family as well as for me to help
host a bridal shower  for Darby. It has been a busy summer as we prepare
for Darby and Trevor's big day!
On the day we flew in, after spending time with Darby and Trevor, we met Jay and Karen
for Ice Cream (Farr's) at this corner spot. In two days, 29 years ago, Aaron and I were married in the building
behind us. Then, however, that building looked a lot different.

Ann Armstrong hosted Darby's Bridal Shower. Wow, I was so thankful to Ann for offering her home to us!
She had just moved from Temecula just a few weeks prior.

The Kirtland Sisters all huddled together :)

I failed big time to get photos of the friends and family in attendance! Family members that were there were
Dalynn, Geri, Theresa, Stacey, Karen, Tracey Tonks, Kori, Kristi and Taryn.

Jaxon having a little bit of firework fun for the 4th of July weekend.
Going on a nice 6 mile walk with Karen.
We were able to visit Grandma Emma. She lives in a nice nursing home in Bountiful.
Because of Covid, we sat outside her window in folding chairs.
A selfie of us while visiting Grandma :)
After our visit with Grandma, we drove to Brigham to meet up with a bunch of Aaron's family for dinner.
We drove by the temple because we had a few minutes to spare.

This lovely conference hall was right across the street from the temple.
Grandpa and Dalynn have really become attached to Trevor since they get to see them
almost weekly for Sacrament and Sunday dinners.
Yeah, this was Darby after her reaction to the medication from strep throat.  She has had a really tough month!
Between the stress of Covid and planning a wedding, she got really bad acne from wearing her mask at work so she got medication for that, then she had strep, then she had the reaction, and now it seems the acne really hasn't gone away so she is now on another medication for that. I told Trevor that this was all a plan from the beginning and that we are really testing HIM! ha ha ha just to see how much patience he really has :)
We spent 4th of July day hanging out with Dave and Kristi and the boys.
It was so nice to just chill out after a busy week!

Texas trip!

We took a trip to Texas to spend some time with the Groesbecks.
We met them in San Antonio to spend a couple of days there first.
Darby flew in from SLC to join us also.
Jaxon was at a boys getaway trip in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Papa racing Charles.
Getting Marion comfy as we embark on our day at the Natural Bridge Caverns.

Charles was the official map holder as we drove
through the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch.
I am so glad we rented a car with 3 rows so we all could fit inside one car.

Photo bombed by a giraffe :)
Sweet Marion
We drove back to Victoria to spend the last few days at Wil and Ashtyn's.
Papa and Charles playing "Don't Rock the Boat"
Charles is a big helper in the garden.
We brought this book for Charles and he LOVED IT!
Charles enjoys showing us his chicks.
Ashtyn makes the best cookies! These are called Cookies & Cream.

We were able to attend Charles' first T-ball game

Oh what a face! We always enjoy a trip to see these cuties!

Wedding prep for Darby and Trevor

Oh, what a story these two will have to tell about their courtship during the year 2020!
This was the first photo of them together while on a hike.
Darby was on a tight schedule and needed to find a dress ASAP,
so she took Aunt Kristi with her and FaceTimed me.
The very first dress she tried on in the first store they visited was the one!
So glad that mom didn't fly all the way out to Utah for 5 minutes of dress shopping ha ha
What made this moment even more special was that
Darby's roommate works at the shop and could assist her.
Trevor took Darby flying while visiting his parents in Temecula
Finally official even though we were already making plans ha ha ha

Emma Nilson took some great photos of these two for their engagements.

This one went into the invitations.
