Oceanside, Summer 2014

The last part of our trip was spending time at a beach condo we rented in Oceanside. We were so looking forward to this part of our trip where we could lounge on the beach as much as we wanted. Pure Heaven!

(The following photos are in no particular order)

This is a photo that shows our condo that was up the stairs and to the right from the shore.
One of the days we took some of our kids to Knotts Berry Farm.

Kristi and her kids, along with Gaby, joined us.
We found a yummy hamburger place within the park.

 Time for funnel cakes!
This crazy crew stayed till 10pm, when the park closed!
Chillin' after a day of junior lifeguards. Jaxon and Melynn, along with Gaby, Nathan,
Carter and Parker Hale and Carson Minor all participated
in the 4 week/3 days a week program.

Melynn, showing who is boss at a junior lifeguard competition.

Jaxon loved having Carson with him for the camp.

Brittany, Darby, Sabrina and Melynn
Kristi and Taryn stayed for two weeks with Greg and Carmen.

Darby is so good with keeping younger kids entertained!

Some of Darby's friends came to the beach to hang with her.
Darby, Kaylee, Harlie and friend :)

In honor or Carter's birthday, Carmen and Greg hung a piƱata in their backyard
and taught us a history lesson about it as well :)

Greg has discovered a love for baking...and barbecuing.
Or maybe I should say, smoking meat!

Aaron took Jaxon to the pier one night to fish.

It has been such a great summer of reuniting with old friends!
Had a great time with Tina, Tiffany and Kurt at Las Olas!
It was fun to see some friends in Temecula.
Dad introduced us to his cousin Pamela.
Greg and Carmen were camping for a week in San Elijo.

The O'Barr family joined Greg's crew for the week.
Super sweet family!

Tina and I, along with her sister, took our boys to ComiCon
in San Diego to walk around and explore the scene.

Mom came to visit for a weekend.
Great family shot of Dave, Kristi and their crew.
Mom is trying Woofem's for her first time.

Spending some alone time with Grandma before she leaves for Vegas.
Right after mom left, Ashtyn flew in for a few days.
We wanted to spend some time with her before we headed back to Europe.

On one of the many nights we spent at Gregs...Relay games with the cousins and neighbors.

Jaxon really wanted to go to Sea World!

Tiffany and her kids joined us a bit later at the park. Such a wonderful day!
After Sea World, we drove to Old Town for some good mexican food.
It was great to see the kids get along so well.
On the last day of junior lifeguards, Jaxon dove into shallow water and reported to the lifeguard that he felt like his neck was tingly. Well, that put him in a frenzy due to safety protocol. Jaxon ended up being put on a stretcher and carried to an ambulance which took him to Tri-City Medical Center! Needless to say, he was absolutely fine. But hey, I guess it is better to be safe than sorry!
After the hospital adventure we met up with the cousins for dinner at Ruby's.
The staff surprised Nathan with a song and a sundae.
Walking back on the pier
That evening we had our Junior Lifeguard Banquet where the
kids received their certificates and photos.
This is one of my favorite pictures of the entire summer because I got to spend lots of time with my big brother...and he is one of the coolest and funnest guys on the planet!

Very last full day of our summer vacation we chilled out on the beach to watch the largest, women's only surf competition in the world. We loved the free stuff we got too :)
Kathryn, Christian and Carmen
I am sure going to miss Carmen. It was so nice to have some time with my sister in law.
Kids found a lobster tail.
Tiffany and her family came up to the competition as well.
Darby and Maddie

Melynn, Lily, Maddie, Alana Blanchard, Darby and Gaby...
yeah they stalked her to get this photo!
That afternoon we hung out at Greg and Carmens.

Dad and Laurie came over to Greg's that evening where we celebrated Nathan's Birthday.

Happy Birthday Nater!
I think this one was the last photo taken of summer.

Okay- I am tired, time to go home!
Seriously though? Great summer!
