Koh Samui, Thailand

The kids had a week off recently for fall break.
We made plans to visit Koh Samui, Thailand.
As soon as we landed we fell in love with this place.
Such a beautiful airport.

Kids went out on the kayaks in front of our hotel.
Then it was time for some food.
The following day we made plans to hike to the waterfalls.
But better take a potty break first :)

Near the waterfalls were some caged elephants for us to meet and feed.

This is quite an interesting fountain!

Picture time with my honey.

Susan is Darby's friend from school who joined us on our trip.

After our little hiking adventure we went to a crocodile farm and zoo.

I could not believe how many crocodiles were just laying around.
Watching the crocodile show. The mans hand actually got scratched on one of his fingers!

One day Aaron and the 3 kids went Scuba Diving. Melynn was so worried because she had had a two week long cold that just wasn't getting better and didn't know if she could actually do it. She wanted to go so bad because she really wanted to see a whale shark (which she had been praying for). The instructor calmed her fears and told her she could probably do it. They all ventured out while Susan and I layed out by the pool and got massages! When everyone returned from diving they reported that Melynn was in fact well enough to dive and they had also spotted a whale shark. This was an answer to her prayers! The instructor said he hadn't seen one in over 6 months and some of
the other guides said it was over a year for them!
Miracles do happen :)

The following day we just lounged around the hotel.
Aaron and Susan would be leaving that afternoon.

We all shared time on the Hobie Cat.
Jaxon and Melynn were doing well maneuvering it.

Melynn wanted to try the coconut water....not her favorite.
A few nights on the trip we would walk down to the Fisherman's Village where there were lots of choices of restaurants and souvenir shops.
A couple of times we went to the local mall and saw a movie.
We saw Pan and also The Last Witch Hunter.
Jaxon shooting with the play guns while waiting for the movie.
In an interesting turn of events. The haze starting get bad on our day to leave. The airport ended up canceling most flights. We kept waiting to hear about our flight and after sitting their for 3 hours we decided to just change our flight for 2 days later. Aaron got online and booked us another hotel. We ended up getting something far more than we really needed.
It was like a house and we even had our own pool too!

The hotel villas were situated on the coast line not far from the airport.
We had a nice view from the hotel restaurant.

I loved the beautiful fruit display and arrangement of pastries, meats and cheeses they
brought to our table every morning for breakfast.
We had a nice trip but looked forward to returning home as always!
